  13. I recently bought 2 Supras External 28.8 Faxmodems (not SupraExpress) and 
  14. have had insurmontable problems.  Both seem to be stuck in Flash Mode.  The 
  15. TR light sometimes comes on even though I'm not online, and the Flasher 
  16. utilities do not recognise the modem and can't flash the Flash ROM even.

  18. The manual says that if the TR light is on, it may be that the modem was 
  19. bumped into flash mode and therefore is expecting new FlashRom info.  Well, 
  20. no go!

  22. Needless to say, the modem also refused to work under OS/2, DOS/Win or 
  23. Win95.  Initially, it was recognised under Win95 but after a couple of hours, 
  24. it just stopped working.  Now, if I remove the Supra drivers under Modems in 
  25. Win95 and attempt a AddNewHardware, it does not get detected any more.  I 
  26. really suspect the ROM has gone.

  28. Supra technical support tells me it has to go in for repairs.  That's a very 
  29. costly proposition for me here in Singapore.

  31. The million dollar question I have is, is there any way to force a Flash 
  32. upgrade even though the Flasher utility does not recognise/find the modem?  
  33. Can a particular sequence/file be just forced through Com2?
  34.  
  35. The exact same thing has happened to a SECOND Supra, and I'm left wondering, 
  36. is this a design flaw of the Supra, or have I just been unlucky?
